Anyone who is charged with the care and support of individuals with complex and challenging behaviours would benefit from the workshop, for example, health therapists (rehabilitation), community service workers, childcare & child safety workers, criminal Justice workers, paid and unpaid carers.
The workshop aims to thoroughly prepare staff and carers for the challenges they might face in working alongside people that exhibit complex or challenging behaviours. The day program (from 8.30am until 3.00pm) will include understanding behaviour, positive behaviour support, techniques and strategies for communication and interaction as well as approaches for managing in a crisis.

The Changing Behaviour for the Better tour (at this stage) will include: Gold Coast, Beenleigh, Logan, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Roma, Charleville, Redcliffe, Caboolture, Maroochydore, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton, Mackay, Emerald, Longreach, Townsville, Mt Isa, Cairns, Mareeba and Atherton.
Registration including GST is $195 includes all specialised course materials, catering, a personalised certificate of completion, instruction from an internationally respected facilitator and the chance to network and share experiences with peers.
Grant Blest, Synapse Training Manager, believes that now has never been a better time to talk about behaviour particularly given the fact that Queensland's recent natural disaster is likely to have impacted on so many people. Grant believes that challenging behaviour can be a response to the environment.
